Cancer and pH Levels

Now here’s a hotly contested topic: can you prevent cancer by maintaining a more alkaline blood chemistry? Should you measure your pH often and change your diet?

I’ve visited a number of websites which maintain that acidic foods increase your risk of cancer.

I find this a confusing and emotionally-charged arena to step into. I’ve ended up taking the advice of the American Institute for Cancer Research and their discussion of this issue http://preventcancer.aicr.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=13441

In a nutshell, their advice is the usual, but hard to follow instructions to “Eat a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and beans; Limit consumption of red and processed meats; Enjoy alcohol in moderation, if at all.”
