I
just read an article posted on the MedicalNewToday.com website which says that “Happiness and mental health are highest among people who eat seven
portions of fruit and vegetables a day, according to a new report.”
Seven
(7) a day? Yeow! I try for five servings of fruits and vegetables a day, but
don’t make it most days.
The
website goes on to tell us that “Economists and public health researchers from
the University of Warwick studied the eating habits of 80,000 people in
Britain. They found mental wellbeing appeared to rise with the number of daily
portions of fruit and vegetables people consumed. Wellbeing peaked at seven
portions a day.” Here’s the link:
Of
course, another alternative that I like (although less studied) is to watch the
Bobby McFerrin “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” youtube.com video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHFDa9efCQU&feature=fvst
