I just read an interview with Scott Hamilton, a multi-medal Olympian. Although the interview is about a year old, I found his discussion about his battles with a “benign brain tumor” (i.e. meningioma” and testicular cancer to be frank, relevant and insightful: http://www.parentdish.com/2011/01/14/scott-hamilton-cancer/
He seems awfully cheerful for a guy who’s had illnesses that’d turn most folks into bitter, curmudgeonly negative old farts.
How did he do that? I don’t know. But I plan to read his book, The Great Eight: How to Be Happy (Even When You Have Every Reason to be Miserable), to find out. I hope the book is as good as the title, which I find inspiring.
