I’ve received another nomination for the celebrity “face” of brain tumors: Lee Starkey, Ringo Starr’s daughter. Actually the email didn’t really “nominate” her for the position, but I think we should have somebody current who can represent us as only a celebrity can.
Unfamiliar with Lee Starkey? Here’s a link to a fan site for her: http://leestarkey.webs.com/
Disappointingly, the site doesn’t tell us much about her brain tumor – what kind, grade, etc.
So while she seems to qualify as a celebrity, I think we need to know more about her from a medical viewpoint.

Hi there!
The site is not availableanymorebut you may find more info on Lee here:

On September 1995 she had a rare form of brain tumour called ependymoma. She underwent to an operation to drain fluid from her brain in a London clinic and then she went on to stay in Boston for six weeks where she had repeated eight-minute blasts of radiation.
In August of 1995, Lee collapsed in England and was rushed to the hospital where she was diagnosed. She had previously had numbness in her leg and arm, however luckily, the tumor was curable.
In 2001 the tumor came back, and I am doing a bit of research and it seems it was the same type, but I'll post any updates I might find.
Cheers and thank you for this post!
